Scoular takes pride in the longevity of its employees and the opportunities we create for internal advancement. But our growth dictates that our recruitment extends from college graduates to very Experienced individuals.
What, Where & How
Scoular actively recruits college graduates for its Merchant Trainee Program. We regularly visit the campuses of the University of Nebraska, the University of Illinois, Iowa State University, Kansas State University, University of Minnesota and Northwest Missouri State University for career fairs and on-campus interviews. We also are an active member of Agriculture Future of America and participate in annual career fairs and training programs sponsored by AFA.
Although we place particular emphasis on schools with agriculture curricula, we also are interested in candidates with strong general business backgrounds, including marketing, finance and the like. If you are interested in interviewing with Scoular, you may contact us by email at recruitment@scoular.com.
Merchant Trainee Program
In 2006, Scoular launched its Merchant Trainee Program to provide new college graduate hires with hands-on experiences in merchandising, operations, sales, accounting and control.
During their first few months at Scoular while participating in the Trainee Program, Trainees are incorporated into Scoular businesses in one of five different U.S. locations. They frequently travel to other company offices and facilities to gain exposure to and understanding of different markets, products, services and customers and to meet other Scoular people. As a group, Trainees have opportunities to meet face-to-face with company executives, be exposed to corporate strategy, and learn about several functions within Corporate Support.
These rich experiences prepare Trainees to transition into regular assignments that complement their strengths, the company’s business needs, and individual geographic preferences.
