CHARLESTON, SC - The Scoular Company announced today that it has purchased a bulk grain-handling terminal in Helena, Arkansas from Kinder Morgan, Incorporated. The terminal previously was owned and operated by Global Material Services, LLC. The Helena operation is a direct transfer facility consisting of two conveyers that transfer grain directly from trucks to two barge loading locations. The facility is located on the Mississippi River. In making this announcement, Scoular emphasized its commitment to the Arkansas and Mississippi Delta market, including producers of corn, soft wheat, soybeans, rice and milo. Frank Heindel, a Director in Scoular's Charleston, South Carolina office, said, "Scoular looks forward to bringing its full range of marketing programs and services to this area. In addition to local operations and merchandising personnel, Scoular's Helena operation will be supported and managed by John Gill who is located in Scoular's Charleston office.
