MINNEAPOLIS, MN – Doug Grennan, Senior Manager of the TransPacific Group for The Scoular Company, has been elected to serve on the Board of Directors for the U.S. Soybean Export Council (USSEC). Grennan will hold the unique distinction of being among the first Board of Directors elected to represent industry membership. Grennan, along with five other directors representing the soybean export industry, will suggest marketing activities targeted to increase global demand for U.S. soybeans and soy products. "U.S. soybean farmers have employed USSEC to create more market demand for their products around the world. As active members of the U.S. soybean export marketplace, Scoular and USSEC are committed to working together to contribute to the success of that effort,” Grennan said. Formed by farmer directors from both the American Soybean Association and United Soybean Board, the USSEC was launched in October of 2005, incorporating the expertise of the soybean industry and state soybean organizations to promote soybeans and soy products in overseas markets. The Scoular Company, Omaha, NE, is a century-old agribusiness company committed to buying, selling, storing, handling and transporting grain and feed and food ingredients worldwide. |
