Scoular Names New Director of Occupational Safety

Omaha, Nebraska, February 19, 2019 – The Scoular Company announced today that Derek Farmer will join the company as Director of Occupational Safety, effective March 4, 2019. Farmer will office in Scoular’s office in Overland Park, Kan., reporting to Vice President Glen Hofbauer.
Farmer most recently served as the Environmental Health Safety & Security Manager for engineering firm Arconic in Washington, Missouri. “We’re pleased to have Derek join our company in this new role that underscores our commitment to the health and safety of our employees,” said Hofbauer. “Safety has always been a priority at Scoular, and we look forward to Derek’s contributions to championing our culture of safety across the company and ensuring that we have a best-in-class safety program.”
In addition to his experience at Arconic, Farmer held safety-related positions with a number of firms, including Lansing Trade Group and Cargill for which he was responsible for overseeing the safety of several grain elevator and processing operations. Farmer holds a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety & Health from Southeastern Oklahoma State University and is working toward an MBA from the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
