Employees Help with Local Meals on Wheels Programs
OMAHA, NE – Scoular employees in Omaha and Minneapolis rolled up their sleeves to help make Thanksgiving a little more special for Meals On Wheels recipients this year.
The employees of the Minneapolis office have been working with their area Meals on Wheels program since 2002, and the partnership they’ve developed over the years doesn’t end with the weekly delivery of meals. In preparation for Thanksgiving, a group of 15 creative employees worked during their lunch hours to decorate several hundred Thanksgiving meal bags for clients receiving a delivery the day before Thanksgiving.
In Omaha, employees assisted the Salvation Army and Meals on Wheels by providing 32 dozen home-baked cookies to be delivered with Thanksgiving meals. The Salvation Army delivers meals on Thanksgiving and Christmas, two holidays that Meals for Wheels does not deliver to home-bound clients.
The Meals On Wheels Association of America (MOWAA) is the oldest and largest organization in the United States representing those who provide meal services to people in need. The organization’s mission is to provide visionary leadership and professional training and to develop partnerships that will ensure the provision of quality nutrition services to seniors in need.
