Robert M. Scoular Memorial Scholarship Recipient Named

Kyle Perry of Kimball, Nebraska Receives Award

OMAHA, NE – The University of Nebraska at Lincoln (UNL) named Kyle Perry of Kimball, Nebraska the 2009 recipient of the Robert M. Scoular Memoria Scholarship. Kyle is a senior at UNL working toward a B.S. degree in animal science.

Kyle is active in a number of student organizations, including Mortar Board, Alpha Zeta, Pepsi Service Scholars, UNL FFA Alumni, and the Nebraska Human Resources Institute. He plans to pursue a career in the livestock industry upon graduation.

The Robert M. Scoular Memorial Scholarship was created in memory of Bob Scoular, the son of George Scoular who founded the Scoular Grain & Lumber Company in 1892. Bob Scoular began working for the company in the 1920’s and took over as Chairman in 1954. He continued to work for the company after the Scoular family sold the business in 1967 to a group of young grain industry executives led by Marshall Faith, Scoular’s Chairman of the Board.
