Twenty-seven Scoular Facilities Receive GEAPS Safety Award
OMAHA, NE — While tens of thousands of grain industry personnel were milling about at Omaha’s Qwest Convention Center during the annual Grain Elevator and Processing Society’s Exchange 2008, more than 50 Scoular employees gathered for a Safety Recognition Reception and Dinner in The Scoular Building Ballroom in Omaha.
Twenty-seven of Scoular’s grain handling facilities received a safety award at the Omaha GEAPS Exchange. Employees from these facilities worked a total of 306,717 hours in 2007 without a workplace lost-time injury or illness. Present at the event were Scoular employees from facilities in Nebraska, Idaho, Illinois, Kansas, Missouri, Utah, California, Montana, Colorado, and Ohio. They were joined by Omaha office employees, insurance company representatives, and special guests Ben Bare, Regional Office Administrator, OSHA, and Eldon Diedrichs, Program Manager, Nebraska Department of Labor/OSHA Consultation.
Scoular’s corporate safety manager, Gary Kearn of Salina, KS, served as emcee for the event, and Bob Ludington, COO from Overland Park, KS, delivered a strong message reinforcing Scoular’s commitment to safety.
