Sponsors Children’s Attraction During Opening of New Milk Plant
OMAHA, NE – The Scoular Company’s Sarasota, Florida office was pleased to support an event in Myakka City, Florida that drew nearly 700 people to the opening of a new milk plant that offers agritours to educate the public and promote the dairy industry in the local area. The agritours give visitors the opportunity to take part in a hands-on experience of working on a dairy farm.
In addition to the agritours, there were attractions for children during the opening event, including a “cow train” that was made up of individual “calf cars”, small wheeled carts painted to look like Holstein calves. Scoular sponsored one of the calf cars to give even the younger event attendees a way to participate in the action.
The event was held at the Jerry Dakin Dairy Farm that is owned and operated by Jerry and Karen Dakin. The Dakins milk 1,400 Holstein cows and are long-time customers of The Scoular Company.
