Areas of interest & what you will do

Operations management

Support daily operations across facilities and grain elevators, ensuring efficient receiving, storing, blending to ensure efficient and timely execution start to finish.

Safety & compliance

Champion a strong safety culture by ensuring safe grain handling practices, hazard awareness, and compliance through daily operational procedures.

Equipment handling

Operate and monitor grain-handling equipment such as conveyors, legs, dryers, and load-out systems. Assist with troubleshooting and preventative maintenance to keep operations running safely and efficiently.

Facility upkeep

Maintain clean, safe, and operationally readiness and integrity across the elevators and facilities. Support inspections, repairs, housekeeping standards, especially during peak harvest and shipping periods.

Typical shifts for facility operations include standard full-time schedules with variations such as early morning, day, or evening shifts to support production and logistics needs. Some facilities may also require weekend or rotating shifts based on operational demands.

Yes.  Scoular is passionate about internal development opportunities in our critical operations roles.  Employees are encouraged to pursue ongoing development and broaden their skill sets through a variety of initiatives. These include skill-based learning opportunities, structured development programs, and access to mentorship. Additionally, participation in the internal apprenticeship program provides a clear pathway to advancement, positioning employees for consideration in future Superintendent roles.

 

Before independently operating any equipment at Scoular, you would receive hands on training. Depending on the position, you could be trained to operate equipment such as forklifts, conveyor belts, or rail systems for example.

 
Safety is a responsibility we all share. New employees at Scoular receive comprehensive safety training appropriate for their position and location; covering equipment handling, hazard awareness, and compliance with workplace safety standards. Training includes hands-on instruction and protocols for emergency response to ensure a secure and efficient work environment.

Elevation training program

18-month apprenticeship

Scoular is always looking for new ways to grow and develop high performing employees. The Elevation Training Program was created to promote elevator operators who have excelled in their roles into facility management roles. Participants will learn the skills needed to become a Scoular Superintendent through the 18 month apprenticeship.

Participants build capability through real work, close mentorship, and cross-facility exposure, with a clear focus on future leadership readiness.
