Scoular names executives to lead business development and commodity risk management

OMAHA, Neb. (Sept. 27, 2018) – The Scoular Company announced today that Bill Hahn and Ed Prosser will join Scoular in the respective positions of Senior Vice President of Business Development and Vice President of Commodity Risk Management. Both executives will start in mid-October and will office in the company’s headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska, reporting to CEO Paul Maass.

Hahn steps into the role previously held by John M. Heck, a long-time Scoular executive who will be retiring in May 2019. “Bill is a seasoned M&A and strategy professional who’s been at the forefront of numerous strategic acquisitions, divestitures, and merger activities throughout his career,” said Maass. “I’m thrilled to have him join our team and to have the luxury of an extended period during which Bill will work closely with John to ensure a smooth and productive transition.”  Heck will remain in a Senior Vice President role with Scoular and will be partnering with Hahn during the transition and working on strategic projects.

Prosser will be working closely with the company’s operating divisions to manage Scoular’s commodity and other trade-related risk, as well as developing and enhancing producer- and end-user-focused risk management programs.  “With 33 years of experience, Ed brings a deep understanding of commodity trading and trade-related risk management to Scoular,” said Maass.

Hahn joins Scoular from Conagra Brands where he most recently served as Senior Vice President of Mergers & Acquisitions, focusing on strategy development, target identification, deal execution, and integration. He began his 25-year career with Conagra Brands as a treasury analyst.  In the years that followed, he made his way up the ranks of the organization, working in Conagra Brands’ M&A and strategic planning group with increasing levels of responsibility.

Prosser comes to Scoular from Gavilon where he served as the Chief Trade and Risk Officer.  Prosser’s career in agribusiness began with Conagra Brands where he worked in a variety of roles over a 24-year time span, eventually serving as Vice President and General Manager of Agricultural Risk Strategies.  In 2008, he joined Gavilon and held vice president roles with responsibilities related to ingredient trading and commodity risk management prior to serving in his most recent position.
