John Heck

John retired after a 38-plus year career at Scoular in May 2019, last working in the role of Senior Vice President, leading Scoular’s Business Development function.

Prior to joining Scoular, John worked as an engineering technician for Shoemaker Consulting Engineers and as a construction estimator for the Union Pacific Railroad. John began his career at Scoular in 1981 when he joined the company as a grain merchandiser. John subsequently held positions of increasing responsibility, eventually being named Operations Manager of the Nebraska Region in 1984 and Vice President responsible for the management and operation of the Eastern Region in 1985. Seven years after accepting that role, John was promoted to Senior Vice President.

John is a graduate of the University of Iowa with a bachelor of science degree in economics. John is a past Chairman of the National Grain & Feed Association and of the Agriculture Council for the Omaha Chamber of Commerce. He has also served as Board Chair for Habitat for Humanity of Omaha, Trustee of the Nebraska 4-H Foundation, and President of the Omaha Grain Trade Association.
